Christchurch/Denver Harpist
Kia ora! I am Katie and welcome to my music project.
I perform Celtic, contemporary, and original harp music as well as produce electronic music. My typical performance style involves live looping with electronic effects. I am available for bookings for various events.
For 2026/2027, my time will be split between my two homes: Christchurch, New Zealand and Denver, Colorado.
About Me
My journey with harp, and music in general, started from a very young age. I was classically trained as a harpist from the age of 7. The warm and rich tones that reverberate from the instrument drew me in and I instantly fell in love with it. I credit my mom’s background as a music teacher and my dad’s willingness to drag my harp around the city and take me to lessons for where I’ve landed today. After 15 years of structured and technical classical learning, I decided to branch out through my other musical passion, electronic music. I discovered a love for this experimental style of music. My electronic music project is under the name Dubzle.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, I moved to New Zealand in 2015 in search of adventure. I became obsessed with the landscape, the people, and the weird birds and have been here ever since.
My Style
Are you looking for a harpist for your next event? I play a variety of styles, but specialise particularly in contemporary music with an electronic twist. I often play sets with effects pedals, which allows for looping, delay, granular synthesis, and other effects that give a modern vibe to music.
I have been moving away from strictly repertoire-driven music in recent years and tend to sprinkle some original songs and improv in my sets. You can listen to some of my original music below, or check out my YouTube and Instagram to see more.
