Bio
Katie Double is an independent harpist, composer, and producer based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Classically trained as a harpist from the age of 7, she broke away from the traditional harp repertoire in her early twenties and began to fuse electronic elements in her own music in the form of effects pedals and the magic of Ableton Live. She was raised in Denver, Colorado, where she developed a deep love for electronic music, particularly downtempo and bass music genres.
She has performed at music festivals and local gigs around Aotearoa and loves holding calm, relaxing spaces to contrast the chaos and high energy often present at festivals. Her style includes downtempo live looping, improvisation, original compositions, and occasional covers.
She is also part of an electronic duo Nourish in collaboration with Paige Julia, an award-winning music producer deeply embedded in Aotearoa’s underground bass scene.
