Kia ora! I’m Katie Double, and welcome to my harp and electronic music project.

I perform contemporary and original harp music, and produce electronic music with harp. My typical performance style involves live looping with electronic effects. I am available for bookings for various events.

My journey with harp, and music in general, started from a very young age. I was classically trained as a harpist from the age of 7. The warm and rich tones that reverberate from the instrument drew me in and I instantly fell in love with it. I credit my mom’s background as a music teacher and my dad’s willingness to drag my harp around the city and take me to lessons for where I’ve landed today.

After 15 years of structured and technical classical learning, I decided to branch out through my other musical passion, electronic music. I discovered a love for this experimental style of music. My electronic music project is under the name Dubzle.

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, I moved to New Zealand in 2015 in search of adventures. I became obsessed with the landscape, the people, and the weird birds, and I have been here ever since.

Are you looking for a harpist for your next event in Christchurch or Canterbury? I play a variety of styles but specialise particularly in contemporary music with an electronic twist. Giving a modern edge to a traditionally classical instrument, I often play sets with effects pedals, which allows for looping, delay, granular synthesis, and other vibey effects.

I have been moving away from strictly repertoire-driven music in recent years and instead tend to sprinkle some original songs and improv in my sets.
